Seattle is home to many exciting sports teams that locals passionately support. In 1999, the Seattle Mariners moved into Safeco, their new state of the art baseball field—complete with retractable roof for rainy days. Since 2002, the Seattle Seahawks have played at Qwest Field. Seahawks fans are proud that their beloved outdoor football stadium is one of the loudest in the NFL, making it one of the most electrifying places to watch live football. NCAA sports strongly supported in Seattle, most notably with Washington Huskies football and basketball.
Seattle has long had the reputation for having a strong local music scene, and this is still true today.
