Seattle Bars and Clubs - Seattle British Bars
|
|
British bars in Seattle are the best places around to enjoy fish and chips, nice imported pints and conversations with friends. Seattle’s fans of football—European style—enjoy watching matches year round. You can also catch rugby and cricket at Seattle’s most diehard British pubs. George & Dragon Pub features everything you’d expect from a British pub in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood. Hand-pulled pints, nonstop European sports and greasy pup grub are staples here. The Globe, further north, is a small pub owned by real-live Brits. British bars always have a welcoming vibe that makes patrons feel relaxed the moment they walk through the doors. The pub atmosphere invites good conversation as well as quality drinks that traditional Seattle bars sometimes lack. It’s easy to spend an entire night in a British bar in Seattle without even realizing it.
George & Dragon Pub
206 N. 36th St., Seattle, Washington; Tel. 206.545.6864
British ex-pats crowd into the George and Dragon Pub in Seattle to get the tastes of their sodden homeland, namely a daily fix of English football, pulled imperial pints of British Isle brews and traditional pub fare—even at 6am on some weekends when a particularly good game is on the telly. These amenities make this Seattle bar one crowded local full of addled fans, but don't expect to see many American sports on the tube because, unbeknownst to most of us on this side of the pond, English and European football leagues go virtually year round with little breaks for other Euro-centric sports like rugby and cricket—so if the Mariners ever make it to the show (ha!) hit a Seattle local bar other than George and Dragon Pub 'cause they'll most likely be dissecting the mid-fielders of the 1982 Manchester United football club...on video. |
Globe
9736 Greenwood Ave. N, Seattle, Washington; Tel. 206.783.6727
A couple of British ex-pats own and operate the Globe bar in Seattle that makes good use of it's comfy interior by serving a bunch of import tap brews in three sizes, but the food is mostly nuked British goodies so this British Pub is for drinking, not getting in touch with your inner limey through artery clogging traditional pub fare. That little drawback aside, Globe is a comfortable bar in Seattle to enjoy a drink and catch an English football match on the telly while making nice with the amicable owners and regular patrons. |
